A small group gathered outside the offices of the West of England Combined Authority (WECA) on Redcliffe street in a protest organised by the Ditch First Bus campaign and joined by members of WESTACT and XR Youth.
Activists from XR Youth blocked an Airport Flyer bus to call for fairer public transport across the region.
XR Bristol’s “Bristol on Board” campaign, under which the group is demanding more affordable public transport whilst supporting the fight against Bristol Airport expansion.
The protest continues XR’s long standing opposition to Bristol Airport expansion whilst simultaneously calling for affordable bus fares and public ownership of public transport.
XR Youth keep public transport on the agenda as they fight for better buses across the West of England.
Youth climate groups are joining forces to launch a campaign for ‘free and fair’ buses.
